Kariwa is a Nordhavn 64, constructed in 2006. We have owned this boat since February 2025 and have done some extensive updating in the last few months.

The salon still had the original decor now almost 20 years old. She got new cushions, new carpet, new lamps and we removed the old curtains which had started to fray on the edges. We decided on neutral colors which appeal to all palates rather than committing to a theme or color. it looks nice and clean and fresh now, and we have had very positive feed back.

In the engine room, the original sea chest had been condemned during the survey, so it was removed and each machine now has a thru hull of its own. This was done because it is a lot easier to deal with a half inch thru hull than a three inch thru hull when things go wrong. We replaced one of the 25kw generators with a new 20kw generator and had the other 25kw generator overhauled. The main engine got new injectors and had a major service, including new coolant hoses and some new hydraulic hoses. The wing engine also had a major service ice which also included new injectors. We replaced all fluids and filters on all engines. All that remains for the engine room is a good scrub and polish. Oh, and speaking of scrub and polish, we had the whole boat detailed and polished.

Both dinghys also had a lot of work done, the big dinghy needed (…) and both engines were taken in for service.
